    The University of Houston board approved a plan today to purchase the broadcast tower, license and FM frequency of Rice University's KTRU station for $9.5 million.

    Middle school students on summer vacation built rafts with Bernard Harris, the first African-American astronaut to walk in space, as part of an experiment at the ExxonMobil Bernard Harris Summer Science Camp. The two-week camp was hosted by the University of Houston.
