Nikki Skinner, a teacher at Houston’s Almeda Elementary School, has been recognized for her outstanding work as a science teacher by the Texas Medical Association. The TMA awarded Skinner the 2010 Ernest and Sarah Butler Award for Excellence in Science Teaching.

The Yates High School debaters were honored as “Squad of the Year” during this past weekend’s Andrews Kurth City Championship of the Houston Urban Debate League Tournament. And one of the teams is heading to state.
