The Yates High School debaters were honored as “Squad of the Year” during this past weekend’s Andrews Kurth City Championship of the Houston Urban Debate League Tournament. And one of the teams is heading to state.

The Yates basketball boys aren't the only ones enjoying success at the school. In the recent Houston Urban Debate League Tournament, held in December at Sharpstown – International High School, the Yates High School debaters placed first and second in the varsity division.
