From a Houston Chronicle story by Jennifer Radcliffe:
Six students from Stevenson Middle School in southeast Houston were struck with a sudden onset illness on Thursday that included fevers, nausea and numbness in their legs, HISD officials said.
Four of the children were taken to area hospitals around 1:20 p.m., Houston Independent School District officials said. The other two went home with their parents.
City and HISD officials are still investigating whether the illness could have been caused by something in the food or in the environment at the school. The children, all sixth-graders, had just eaten a lunch of nachos and milk and were headed to science class when the illness struck, HISD spokesman Norm Uhl said.
