HISD announces swine flu vaccine plan

HISD has announced that six of its schools will be giving free H1N1 vaccinations this Saturday, Nov. 21, from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. The vaccinations will be given out in a first come, first serve basis. Four of the six schools are in the East End/Third Ward area.

• Wheatley High School, 4801 Providence, 77020

• Yates High School, 3703 Sampson, 77004

• Milby High School, 1601 Broadway, 77012

• Woodson Middle School, 10720 Southview, 77047

The HISD release included a reminder that the Houston Health Department also offers free vaccines on a first come, first serve basis at several sites, including three in the area.

• Lyons Health Center, 5602 Lyons, 77020

• Magnolia Health Center, 7037 Capitol, 77011

• Sunnyside Multi-Service Center, 4605 Wilmington, 77051

The HHD sites operate on Mondays from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Tuesdays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
