Yates started strong, but couldn't hold up in the long run against El Campo, losing 28-7. Yates scored in the first quarter to go up 7-0, but El Campo then scored 28 unanswered points.
Quarterback Darveon Trahan scored the Lions' only touchdown on a 2-yard run, while running back Corrie Posey rushed for 79 yards on only 11 carries.
